Leon F. Papazian

Mr. Leon F. Papazian, age 87, of Palm Coast, FL, formerly of Marietta, died Friday, July 22, 2005 at Grand Oaks Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Cairo, Egypt, he was a resident of this area since 1980. Leon retired in 1966 after 24 years as an aeronautical engineer and Lt. Colonel in the United States Air Force. He retired from Lockheed Martin in 1980. He was a member of the St. Thomas Episcopal Church, The Matanzas River Yacht Club, The Palms Coast Yacht Club, a member of the Mason in Tokyo, Japan and member of the Elks Club. He was an outdoorsman who loved hunting, camping, scuba diving and working on computers.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 28, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home Kennesaw, GA, with Rev. Mike Slaughter officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Ridge Memorial Park Cemetery, Kennesaw, GA.

He is survived by his wife, Jean, of 53 years; son, John Francis and wife, Donna, of Seoul, Korea; daughter, Virginia Conover and husband, Cliff, of Kennesaw, GA; brother, Bedros (Peter), Montreal, Canada; and 5 grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
